Niu Kai’s artistic journey is deeply intertwined with the cultural and political shifts that China underwent during the latter half of the 20th century. Born in 1966 in the Henan Province, a region steeped in rich history, Niu Kai grew up during a time when religious expression and personal artistic freedom were heavily restricted.
